Welcome to Rambling Ruins. This is inspired by Colossal Cave, also known as Adventure. Colossal Cave has been the subject of some historical research. Zork is it more complex successor.

Welcome to Rambling Ruins! This is a text-based adventure game that describes your surroundings and you type what you want to do.

You will 'see' lots of things. Basic commands are look, which tells you generally about things, and examine anything in the room you're in. It understands directions, too -- go, north, south, east, west

You can eat and break some things, or take them to put them in your inventory. Some doors are locked, and some are hidden -- examine things carefully! You can drop things that you have taken.

Your guide will sometimes tell you things without your asking, and can be a bit of a nag. If it understands you, it will only rarely refuse to do what you ask. It generally prefers not to kill things though.

The ruins are still under construction. Have fun!

This has been tested on Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and the iPad browser. It also works on Safari and Firefox. Internet explorer works if you click in the output section after each command. It doesn't work with Opera yet.
